Updates - 10-2-23

-The varsity B team raced at the Coaching Legends Invite placing 5th with several course bests. Results are posted on

-Our first home meet of the season is a double dual with Plymouth and Novi Tuesday at Huron Meadows. The boys race at 4:45. White Bulldog singlets. Course Map

-The Portage Invite is this Saturday, October 7th at Portage West Middle School. Only athletes that have run sub 19 minutes (or very close) will attend. The bus leaves at 9:00. Varsity (top 7) races at 2:00 and JV races at 4:00. Awards to the top 50 individuals and top 3 teams are at 3:30 for varsity and 4:45 for JV. Varsity will wear varsity singlets. JV will wear their Checkerboard singlets. This is by far the largest meet we'll attend this season with 17 races throughout the day and ~40 teams in the D1 race alone. The team camp will be in the area north of the tennis courts, between the 1K and 2 mile markers. Meet/parking info and the course map are posted on the Portage Invite website. More info on food vendors, shirt pricing, and more may be found in the Parent Quick Sheet.

-Milk is one of the most requested and least received items at food banks. With eight grams of protein per serving and essential nutrients such as calcium and potassium, milk is a nutritious staple that should be in every fridge.

Your gallon donation at Busch's in Brighton will not only provide milk to those who need it most, but also get Brighton XC one gallon closer to receiving a Chocolate Milk Drive Grant for their season! Stop in before October 8th to make a difference in your community. #BuschsMilkDrive #MilkMeansMore

-We'll recognize seniors after our double dual with Hartland and Howell at Huron Meadows next Tuesday. Traditionally parents of seniors hang their senior's banner on the fence near the pavilion for the race and celebration.

-The season is winding down quickly, especially for our less experienced runners. The Livingston County JV Invite (October 23rd) will be the last race of the season for athletes not traveling with the Regional and State teams. Practices after the JV Invite are optional for runners no longer competing. Any unexcused absences must be made up during these optional practices.

-All healthy athletes are encouraged to continue training with their teammates through the duration of the season.
