-The boys improved to 2-1 beating Howell Tuesday afternoon 28-29 and a new BHS Freshman Course Record was set by Zach Stewart at the Legends Invite Saturday! Zach's time of 16:23 bested the previous record of 16:50, which was set by Josh Partridge in 2006. The boys finished 8th in a competitive field at the Legends Invite. Thank you to all the parents who helped out with the picnic after the meet. Results to both meets are posted on athletic.net.

-Tuesday, the 4th, we race at Hartland High School. We will wear our orange and white singlets. Boys race at 4:30 and girls race at 5. The bus will leave at 2:35. Hartland's course starts and finishes near their softball and baseball fields. Due to safety concerns, the parking lot closest to the course will be closed. Spectators are asked to park in the lot west of the Track and Field Complex or in the upper lots near the school. Either lot you park in will be a bit of a walk to the course. A map of the HHS campus and XC course is attached to the weekly email.

-Friday, we will have our normal quick practice. At 5:00 the boy's and girl's teams will meet at the BECC to walk in the homecoming parade. All runners are encouraged to attend.

-Saturday, the 8th, we race at the Portage Invite. Only sub 19:00 runners will race. Boys D1 varsity race at 1:30, Girls D1 varsity race at 2:30, Boys D1 JV race at 3:30, Girls D1 JV race at 4:30. Athletes will carpool from the high school at 9:30. JV will wear black singlets, varsity will wear a "varsity set". So far, 19 runners have hit the time standard. We are in need of parent drivers. If you're willing to drive contact Coach Elsey.

-After the KLAA Conference Championships October 20th, all practices and meets are optional for non-varsity athletes. If a runner wants to compete in the End of Autumn Open, October 26th, or the PR Invite, November 2nd, they must continue to practice as they have all season. These optional practices/meets count towards any make-up practices.

-Our Awards Night is scheduled for November 17th at 7:30 in the SMS cafeteria.
