Updates - 11-2-26
-Our JV squad wrapped up their season with several strong performances at our JV Invite and our varsity won their 4th consecutive Regional Championship with 5 athletes earning All-Region honors. Results to both meets are posted on athletic.net.
-Practices are optional this week for any athlete not on the 'State Team'. Runners that are healthy and would like to continue training with their teammates are strongly encouraged to do so. Missed practice make-ups must be completed by this Thursday.
-Athletes that are no longer competing may return their washed/dried uniform and bag to Coach Elsey before or after school this week.
-This week's practices will end early.
-Friday, November 6th the top 7 will travel to MIS to preview the state meet course. They will be dismissed from school at 12:15. Afterwards the State Team will have team dinner at BHS.
-Saturday, November 7th is the MHSAA State Championships at MIS. Course Map. The State Team will depart BHS at 10:15. The D1 boys race is at 2:10. Trophies to the top two teams and medals to the top 30 All-State athletes will be presented during the D2/D1 awards ceremony at 4:00. The State Team will have access to a Pit Row Suite before/during/after the race. Only State Team athletes/coaches will be permitted in the suite. Spectator admission is $13 and must be purchased online through GoFan. -We'll have a couple extra entry wristbands for athletes that are planning to attend. Interested runners should contact Coach Elsey.
-As runners wrap up their season they are encouraged to take a two week break. Athletes should return to consistent training after their break. Anyone competing in a winter sport is highly encouraged to focus on that sport and do everything they can to be great.
-Uniform return is Wednesday, November 11th. All items must be washed and dried prior to returning. Athletes need to return their bag, White/Black/Checkerboard singlets, black warm up jacket, and black warm up pants (a few athletes weren't issued pants). Athletes no longer competing may turn in their uniform early.
Missing item fees: singlets $25, checkerboard singlets $45, pants $40, jacket $50
-Awards Night is Monday, November 23rd at 7 p.m. in the SMS cafeteria.
