-We had great turnouts at our Kensington Camp and Huron Meadows Volunteer Day! The strong numbers we're seeing at these events and our optional workouts are a strong indicator of this team's future success. Photos from this past week are posted here. Now is an excellent time for our athletes that haven't been able to join us to get back on the horse and set themselves up for a strong fall.
-Wednesday's single track trail is at the Highland Rec Area. The trailhead is on Livingston Rd. just west of Duck Lake Rd in White Lake. This is a very challenging hilly/technical 7.5 miles of trails.
-Friday's July Time Trial at Huron Meadows is the first opportunity for runners to qualify for Team Camp in August. Athletes that run under 15:30 on our time trial course will be eligible to attend camp. The top 25 athletes based on time between the July Time Trial and Camp Time Trial will receive the first opportunity to sign up. Team Camp is one of the highlights of the season and is often a transformative experience for first time attendees. Team Camp Info
-The BXC Spirit Wear Shop is open! Products will be ready to ship direct to home within 1-2 days the moment the order is placed. The shop closes on Monday, July 21st.
-Agate Core Therapy (Dr./Mrs. Elsey's practice) in downtown Brighton is offering a free gate screening to BXC athletes. The gait screen is a valuable tool used to determine risk of injury. Athletes will receive the analysis report along with 1-3 action items to reduce potential injuries and improve performance. After signing up, you'll be contacted to schedule the free gait screen.
-Carole's Kicks is new program made possible through the Yoga Strong Foundation in collaboration with Running Lab. Their mission is to help support middle and high school cross country and track athletes in need all across Livingston County by providing high quality running shoes. Please contact Coach Elsey for more details.
-Thank you to everyone that has completed the registration process through Final Forms and submitted the $30 Team Fee through Zeffy. All athletes need an updated physical, completed athlete/parent registrations, and the team fee submitted prior to the start of the season. The team fee helps cover the cost of team shirts and post workout chocolate milk.
-Next week is our Middle School XC Camp. The more high school athletes we have volunteer the better!
