Updates - 8-5-24

Updated: Aug 6

-Anticipation of the season continues to build as our first meet is less than three weeks away! The hard work of our athletes this summer will payoff this fall.

-The Camp Time Trial was held this past Wednesday. The top 25 runners between the two time trials received their invites to Team Camp at UAW Black Lake in Onaway, MI. The camp info and permission forms were shared with qualifiers.

-Running Lab and other specialty running stores have sales for the upcoming season coming up. Running Lab's sale is this Sunday, the 4th. Gazelle Sports sale begins Friday, August 16th.

-The BSN spirit wear team shop closes Monday, August 5th.

-Wednesday, the 7th is Day of Caring. The team will volunteer at Challenger Elementary in Howell from 9 to noon. The worksite confirmation suggests volunteers bring gardening tools and a couple rakes/string trimmers/push brooms.

-Also on the 7th, the BXC Parent Meeting starts at 6:00 in the Maltby cafeteria (last minute change from BHS cafeteria). The meeting is a great opportunity to get a feel for the program and get your questions answered. Our new parents are strongly encouraged to attend. Returning parents familiar with the program are welcome to attend too.

-Thursday, the 8th Juniors and Seniors will be issued their uniforms at the BHS track. We'll meet near the flag pole by the 100m start line at 10. We will also be helping to put away the high jump and pole vault pits.

-Saturday, the 10th both boys and girls BXC athletes are invited to the BHS Steam Center to watch the final day of Olympic Track and Field competition. All the days events are finals. Among the events are the Men's 800m and 5K, the Women's 1500m, and both Men's and Women's 4x400m Relays. Freshmen/sophomores are asked to bring snacks (chips/cookies/etc.) and juniors/seniors are asked to bring drinks (water/juice/etc.) By the way, if you missed it, the Men's 10K Final and Mixed 4x400m Relay Final were fantastic and definitely worth a watch!

-Thank you to everyone that has their registration complete and physicals uploaded to Final Forms. Physicals must be uploaded and registrations must be completed before official practices begin.

-A new Remind class was created for the upcoming season. Parents and athletes are encouraged to sign up for meet instructions and quick announcements.
