-After two weeks of consistent workouts we will pause for the summer Dead Week. Dead Week begins this Monday, the 2nd and runs through Sunday, the 8th. Coach Elsey will not meet/communicate with athletes during this time. More info on the Dead Week can be found on the MHSAA website.
-After the dead week we have our second single track trail and the Kensington Camp. We will carpool from BHS at 7:30 to the Milford Trail. Reminder - these single track trail runs are challenging. Runners should be fit before attending these runs. The Kensington Camp is for all potential and current runners regardless of fitness. We will meet at 11:00 at/near the North Martindale Picnic shelter (by the Splash n Blast).
-During these pre-season months it is important for runners to establish the positive habits that will keep them healthy and on top of their game. Now is good time to remind your athlete to eat breakfast, maintain a balanced diet, stay hydrated by drinking lots of water, and going to bed at a reasonable time to get the sleep their bodies need.
-All athletes need an updated physical on file before official practices begin this August. Every year there is one or two runners who have to sit out of practice because they don't have their physical. Hopefully this'll be the year we have 100% of the physicals turned in on time.
