Updates - Week of 6-17-19

-The 2019 MHSAA Track and Field Season wrapped up at the Sate meet with Brighton's 4x800m relay and 4x400m relay teams earning All-State honors! The icing on the cake to this season will be applied this weekend at New Balance Outdoor Nationals. BXC will be well represented at the meet with athletes participating

in the Sprint Medley Relay, 4x200m Relay, 4x800m Relay, 4xMile Relay, Distance Medley Relay and Open 2 Mile!

-Summer BXC training begins Monday, June 17th! The strength of our athletes is directly tied to the work they put in during the summer months. These optional workouts are highly encouraged for all XC runners and any other athlete looking to get in shape prior to their fall season.

-One of the best parts of XC is the camaraderie between teammates that begins during the summer. The biggest catalyst for this bonding is from the post workout Ultimate and Nuke'Em. Encourage your athletes to stick around and spend this quality time with their teammates to get the most from their experience with Brighton Cross Country.

-Brighton XC is proud to announce Natalie Monroe as the new Assistant Coach for the boys team. Her experience as a former BHS and D1 athlete combined with her passion for the sport will make her an excellent addition to the program!

-All athletes and parents/guardians are required to complete the online registration for Brighton XC. Each athlete needs only one parent/guardian to complete the process. PARENT REGISTRATION LINK. Returning athletes and parents should expect the registration process to last approx 5 minutes. Athletes without a Brighton gmail account may complete the registration after they receive their account in August.

-Saturday, June 22nd members of the team will volunteer at Huron Meadows from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is an excellent opportunity to give back to the park that has hosted BXC for the previous 14 seasons. Click here for Huron Meadows Volunteer Day details.

-In August members of the team will participate in the Livingston County Day of Caring. Details are being finalized. Athletes who are participating and would like a shirt need to REGISTER HERE by July 4th.
