-The boys finished their incredible 2019 season as MHSAA D1 State Champs! Jack Spamer and Zach Stewart both earned All-State honors! Meet results are posted on athletic.net.

-The 2019 team claimed their 3rd consecutive Division Championship, 1st Conference Championship since 1995, repeated as Regional Champions, and won the program's 3rd State Championship! In addition to the championships, this season also saw 22 athletes run under 18 minutes for 5K. The willingness of the runners to put in the work during the off-season is the key factor to the team's success. Athletes not competing in a winter sport are highly encouraged to contact Coach Elsey for details on winter training.

-This Friday, during half time of the home football playoff game, the team will be presented with the 2019 State Championship Banner! Athletes will meet Mr. Thompson by the flag pole as the 2nd quarter comes to an end. Runners should wear their varsity jacket or some other Brighton XC gear.

-Uniform return is Monday, November 11th at 3:00 in the field house parking lot. All items (black split shorts, black pants, orange and white singlet, black and orange singlet, checkerboard singlet, jacket, and drawstring bag) must be washed and returned before athletes receive their season awards.

-Awards Night is in the Maltby cafeteria from 7:00-9:30ish on Monday, November 25th. All runners and families are encouraged to attend.

-There is a $1000 scholarship opportunity for senior athletes. The deadline is November 29th. Details on the Portage Invitational Student Athlete Scholarship can be found here.
