-After a great first week the team will pause for the MHSAA mandated Dead Week. Coaches will not meet/communicate with athletes during this time. More info on Dead Week can be found on the MHSAA website.

-Thank you to everyone that has completed the registration process on Final Forms. All athletes and a parent/guardian must complete the registration. An updated physical (dated after 4-15-25) also must be uploaded to Final Forms prior to official practices starting in August.

-This year we'll be collecting a $30 Team Fee through Zeffy. This fee will enable the program to continue suppling chocolate milk after workouts, cover the cost of the black brighton long sleeve shirt distributed to each new athlete, and the 2025 team t-shirt distributed to all athletes.

-We'll have a busy week after the 4th. Our Kensington Camp, the second single track trail, and our Huron Meadows volunteering are the week following Dead Week.

-Kensington Camp consists of some running followed by lots of Nuke'Em and Ultimate. The camp is an awesome event and is strongly encouraged for everyone considering running cross country this fall.

-The Milford Trail is a technical 5ish mile mountain bike trail near downtown Milford. These single track trail runs are tough and are ideal for more fit and/or more experienced athletes.

-Volunteering at Huron Meadows is an excellent opportunity to give back to the park that has hosted our home meets for the previous several years. We will likely be removing invasive plant species.

-Agate Core Therapy (Dr./Mrs. Elsey's practice) in downtown Brighton is offering a free gate screening to BXC athletes. The gait screen is a valuable tool used to determine risk of injury. Athletes will receive the analysis report along with 1-3 action items to reduce potential injuries and improve performance. After signing up, you'll be contacted to schedule the free gait screen.

-Our July Time Trial is just a couple weeks away. This will be the first opportunity for runners to qualify for our Team Camp at UAW Black Lake. To qualify athletes must run under 15:30 on the time trial course and must be academically eligible. The top 25 athletes based on time between the July Time Trial and our Camp Time Trial will receive invites to camp. There are 26 returners from last year that have run faster than the 15:30 qualifying time standard.

-Have a great 4th of July!
