-The program established a new tradition completing the July Time Trial on the back Huron Meadows loop. This was the first opportunity to qualify for Team Camp in August. The next opportunity to qualify will be Friday, July 29th at the Camp Time Trial.
-Wednesday's single track trail is at the Highland Rec Area. The trailhead is on Livingston Rd just west of Duck Lake Rd in White Lake. This is a very challenging hilly/technical 7.5 miles of trails.
-Now is an excellent time for runners with high and/or intense training to get their iron levels checked, especially their ferritin levels. The program has seen multiple athletes in recent years put in the necessary work but unable to perform up to their expectations due to low iron levels. What is Ferritin by Dr. Kornoelje explains the importance of iron, the nuance of low ferritin levels, and a plan for checking and treating iron related issues. All BXC runners that have put in months of consistent/quality training should strongly consider getting their ferritin levels checked if they haven't been tested in the last few months.
-We have 42 youth runners registered with more walk up registrations expected for our Middle School XC Camp! Camp is a great time for both the middle school campers and our high school runners. The more high school athletes that volunteer the better!
-The BHS athletic department is implementing a new paperless system called Final Forms. Hard copies of physicals are no longer being accepted. Parents can register and upload physicals here.
