-56 young athletes competed in the 2K race to wrap up our Middle School Camp this week! Our high school athletes enthusiasm and positive attitudes made this an excellent experience for all the youth runners! Results from the race and photos from the week are posted on the Brighton Cross Country Facebook page.
-The Camp Time Trial was held this past Friday. The top 25 athletes between this summer's two time trials are invited to attend Team Camp at UAW Black Lake in Onaway, MI. Qualifiers received the camp info and permission/disclaimer forms. The physical/consent form, emergency card, camp permission/disclaimer, and camp payment must all be turned in before departing for camp on August 8th. Athletes not attending camp will be r-mailed their workouts and are highly encouraged to continue training with their teammates.
-This week's schedule is a bit different due to the Preseason Downtime which runs August 1st-9th. Monday the team will meet at the south side of Huron Meadows for Capture the Flag. Wednesday is busy with the team participating in a Livingston County Day of Caring project from 9:00 - noon at LACASA (2895 West Grand River Ave, Howell MI), meeting at the BHS track from 4:45-7:00, along with the 6:00 parent meeting in the BHS cafeteria. Friday the team will meet at our normal Huron Meadows location for Ultimate.
-Wednesday morning for Day of Caring our the boys/girls XC programs will be weeding, trimming bushes, etc. We are asked to bring hand trimmers, rakes, shovels, tree trimmers, and weed whips. Athletes should also bring gloves and water too.
-All parents are invited to Wednesday evening's parent meeting. The meeting will be mostly a review to families familiar with the program. All new parents to Brighton XC are strongly encouraged to attend.
-The BHS athletic department is implementing a new paperless system called Final Forms. Hard copies of physicals are no longer being accepted. Parents can register and upload physicals here
-The 2022 Meet Schedule identifies meets with full or partial roster participation. Our first meet is coming up fast!
