-The team was able to travel out to the beautiful Waldenwoods Resort this past Wednesday for practice and some beach fun afterwards. Thanks again to the Crouse family for organizing!
-Saturday, the 29th the team races Novi at Huron Meadows. Brighton athletes will be racing in the Black and Orange singlet and should arrive between 1:15 and 1:30. The race will begin at 2:30 utilizing 3 wave starts to reduce numbers at the starting line and limit contacts during the race. Spectators are not permitted at the course to keep our group numbers under 100. With athletes, coaches, meet volunteers, and meet officials we anticipate a group of about 95+/- individuals. Please understand at this time we simply cannot have people along the course without risking the Metro Park staff shutting down the event. Parents/spectators may remain parked in their vehicle and not count against the 100 individual limit. We are required to clear the area by 3:30. Athletes will need to take their belongings to their vehicle before cooling down and may need to cool down towards the south side of the park to ensure the area is vacated by 3:30. These procedures/restrictions will vary throughout the season based on the host team/venue. Our home meet procedures/restrictions may also be adjusted through the season.
-We are looking for volunteers for our home meets. Brief descriptions of the various positions are listed on the sign up genius. I will communicate with volunteers later in the week and prior to the race start to ensure everyone is on the same page. A quick disclaimer on the live stream position, I do not know what it entails and have no intention of learning over this next week. If you are confident with technology and social media please consider volunteering for this position. Use the BXC Boys Home Meet Volunteers sign up genius to volunteer.
-Uniforms were distributed to runners at practice on Thursday and Friday. Anyone that wasn't able to pick up their uniform last week will receive it this week when all paperwork/registrations are complete. The BXC Paperwork spreadsheet contains links to all forms/documents and identifies missing pieces.
-Our 2020 Meet Schedule has been updated. We've added a dual in mid September with Ann Arbor Pioneer and the Romeo dual was moved from Thursday, the 3rd to Wednesday, the 2nd. All Brighton hosted dual meets now have a confirmed date and start time. All away meets have been agreed to by athletic departments but locations and start times need to be confirmed.
-The September/October practice calendar will be posted soon. After discussing with the AD we will continue to practice at the parks after school most days.
-Next week the high school registration runs from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Monday, the 31st and Tuesday, the 1st. We will practice from 4:15-5:45 at BHS.
