-The athletes that competed at the End of Summer Fall Preview Meet had a very strong showing with several runners earning new PRs! Results are posted on athletic.net.
-Tuesday, August 31st the team will race in the Mustang Invite at Cass Benton. Athletes will meet at the high school at 1:45 with their mask for the 2:00 bus (masks are mandated on BAS buses). Juniors/Seniors race at 4:30 and Freshmen/Sophomores race at 5:30. The top 25 in each race will medal. Awards at approximately 6:30. Everyone will race in their Black and Orange singlets. Please remind your athletes to pack snacks and extra water. Course map link.
-Tuesday's meet will be a long day especially for runners in the Freshmen/Sophomore race. The Spartan Nutrition doc has great information on how to properly fuel for competitions on these long days.
-Transportation forms were passed out at practice this past week. The form and fee are due on Thursday, September 2nd.
-Also this past week, the team began working with the Student Athlete Program. "This new program is designed to develop the character, sportsmanship, and leadership of all athletes..." More details on the program are here.
-Labor Day weekend practices Friday, Saturday, and the following Monday are optional.
-The School Practice Calendar shows the dates/locations of our practices during the fall. Please remember this calendar is tentative. Always refer to the weekly updates for the most accurate practice/meet information.
-Looking ahead, athletes outside of the top 10-12 will compete at the Huron Invite on September 18th and the Legends Invite on October 2nd. Runners not competing will attend both meets and support their teammates.
