-Our first meet is only a couple weeks away! The athletes hard work over the summer (and winter) months make the difference when competition begins.
-The top 25 runners at the Camp Time Trial received their invites to Team Camp at UAW Black Lake in Onaway, MI. The Camp Info and Permission/Consent Forms were shared with qualifiers. Everyone attending camp must have all fees submited, camp forms turned in, and registrations/physicals updated on Final Forms before we depart on the 11th.
-Tuesday, the 5th is the SR/JR uniform issue. We'll meet at the BHS track for our annual pole vault pit party at 10:00 and distribute uniforms after the mats are put away. We expect to finish shortly after 11:00.
-Wednesday, the 6th is the Livingston County Day of Caring. We're assigned to the Howell High School Freshmen Campus for grounds clean up from 9-noon. Details are on the worksite confirmation.
-Also Wednesday, the 6th is the fall parent meeting in the BHS Steam Center at 6 p.m. We'll go over the meet schedule, answer camp questions, and discuss how to support the kids during the season. The Steam Center is located in the east end of the building. You'll be able to park near the tennis courts and enter the building through the Steam Center doors.
-Thank you to everyone that has already uploaded their physical and completed the registrations through Final Forms. Official practices begin at 3 p.m. on August 18th at Huron Meadows. To practice with the team during the official season all registrations must be complete and an updated physical must be submitted on final forms. In addition, the team fee through Zeffy must be submitted prior to competing on the 22nd.
-Athletes new to the program will need to purchase bottoms for their uniform. The solid black Nike Men's 10K Short or Nike Men's Team Dri-Fit Half Tight are acceptable options. We have limited pairs of the Nike team shorts: 1-S (used), 2-M, 7-L, and 2-XL. We also have 3-L pairs of the discontinued New Balance team shorts. The shorts we have are available for $21.
-We'll be using Remind for last minute communications/updates and announcements. If you received remind texts last fall or earlier this summer you are already signed up. BXC Remind Sign Up
-The SMS XC course is in need of some help to get ready for the season. Volunteer athletes are needed the morning of August, the 19th. Details to come.
-Team Pictures are Thursday, August 21st at BHS. The team will meet for practice at 2:30 to be ready for pictures at 3:45. Preorders are available through the VSN website.
