-We had our first busiest week of competition this season. The team split their duals with Northville and Salem, finished 2nd at the Spartan Invite, and finished 7th at the Huron Invite. Results are posted on athletic.net. Photos

-Tuesday's dual with Plymouth at Huron Meadows is also Senior Night. Traditionally parents have hung their senior's banner along the fence during the meet. The banners have been sent to print but we're not sure when they'll be arriving. Regardless of the banner arrival we will celebrate our seniors after the meet. Younger athletes are encouraged to stay after to support their teammates. The girls race at 4:15 and the boys race at 4:45. Senior night will likely begin around 5:30. Athletes will wear their White singlets.

-Our top 10 race in Peoria, Illinios this weekend at the Peoria Notre Dame Richard Spring Invite. Permission forms and detailed itinerary will be sent home on Monday. Runners will be dismissed from school after first hour Friday and depart by 9 a.m. The athletes will race in the Varsity 3 Mile at 8:40 a.m. (CST) Saturday morning. The course is at Detweiller Park, on the Illinois state championship course. This will be the largest and one of the most competitive fields we race in. Currently there are 55 teams registered, most with 10 athletes (Portage last year had 38 D1 teams all with 7 athletes). The teams include last year's D1 Ohio state champions along with many of the top teams in Illinois. Awards to the top 3 teams and medals to the top 25 individiuals. Checkerboard singlets. Course Map

-Athletes not attending the meet are encouraged to meet with their teammates for Friday's workout.

-BHS Pink Week is next week, with the Pink Run taking place on Wednesday, the 24th. The 5k is at 6:30 and the kids mile begins at 6:00. The event supports Trinity Health Center. Details are located on the Brighton Pink Run registration.

-The Legends Invite (September 27th) and Portage Invite (October 4th) are coming up. At the Legends Invite only athletes outside of the top 10ish will compete. All athletes will compete at the Portage Invite this year.

-The Livingston County JV Invite on October 20th is the final meet of the season for athletes that are not competing/alternates at the Regional and State Championships. Practices after the JV invite are optional for those athletes. Any unexcused absences must be made up during this period of optional practices.

-A member of our BXC family is searching for volunteers for the Detroit Free Press Marathon. This is an excellent way to earn volunteer/service hours and support the running community. More information is located here.
